Despite two high-ranking Senate Democrats declaring their support for impeaching President Trump, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer isn’t going there.

The New York Democrat told reporters Tuesday he is standing by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, who has rejected moving ahead with impeachment, at least for now.

Pelosi wants House committees to keep investigating Trump, his administration and his business dealings using subpoenas enforced by the courts.

Schumer agrees, he said Tuesday.

“I believe Speaker Pelosi is handling this appropriately,” Schumer told reporters.

Schumer’s stance on impeachment goes against the number three and number four Democrats, both women.
