Here's what I get when I simply try to visit the board.

So that message finally stopped and then I tried to log in but all I get now is this.

Board down again.This is becoming a regular thing now Google probably doesn't like the free speech and one of their bots caught up to us

I hope that's not the case, because one of the bad things about Tapatalk is that you can't send a private message to anybody unless you can log in. So, when something like this happens, you have to hope that the members will be able to open the thread that talks about the back-up board and come over here. If they can't look inside that thread, there's no way for us to tell them where this board is.

Cy, if Google really did shut us down, then they will probably send you an e-mail about it. I think they would also put up a big notice saying that the board was shut down.

If the board is ever shut down, I don't think it will be because of anything political that was said. It will be because of something that we probably need to discuss in the Admin area. I was going to make a post in there about it yesterday, but I kept putting it off. It's nothing urgent, but it's something we might need to look out for.

Well, I've tried three times to get into the main board, and I only get five chances. After those five are up, I don't know how long I'll have to wait before I can try again. It might be a full 24 hours, so I might better wait before trying it two more times.

Sheesh!

EDIT--Instead of making new posts, I'll just keep editing this one, unless somebody makes a post after this one. Anyway, I just tried again, and it sill wouldn't let me in, but it did say that I could try it another four times.

EDIT--Still can't get in.

EDIT--Cy, I just found out that it isn't a board problem--it's an account problem. Some people can log in, and some can't. I just happen to be one who can't. I'll keep trying periodically, though.

EDIT--I just got the official word--it is a cyber attack against Tapatalk. Here's what they are saying about it on their community board (posted today): "We have been experiencing several DDoS attacks in recent days. (Bots that overwhelm our servers with requests with the intent of bringing down our service). In the short-term these attacks result in short stretches of downtime, as well as occasional errors at login."

EDIT--I'm tired of beating my head against the wall. I'll try again sometime later tongiht.

EDIT--Three hours later, and I still can't get in. I notice that Cy hasn't posted on the main board--maybe he can't get in, either. I might have to just wait and try again tomorrow (Sunday).

EDIT--Another three hours and I still can't get in. Cy hasn't posted, either, so I guess he and I are in the same boat.

EDIT--I FINALLY GOT IN!!!!!

It seems to be a complete Tapatalk wipe-out. I can't see Didy's board, either.

EDIT--I'm not a member of Didy's board, but I sometimes lurk there.

I always check that too just to make sure they aren't specifically targeting our board...(you never know)...but lately, they are having those old Yuku style server down problems....Probably a good time to really get some idea for a permanent backup board going, in case we have to migrate again.

Cy, I remember you said you wanted to have a board where you could change the background on each forum, and I think I found one a couple of weeks ago. But the method to do it was complicated, and I was going to ask more questions about it, but something happened and I never did. I remember that they had different terminology. They called the whole site the "forum," and what we call the "forums," they called the "boards." So, it was confusing to ask them and to understand their answers. But I might go back and see if I can understand it better.

EDIT--I see that our regular board just came back!

EDIT--Well, it came back for about thirty seconds, then went away.

I always liked this mountain background though...It actually makes me feel a bit nostalgic...Reminds me of the "olden days" of our message board past....Besides, all the colors make me feel happier.

I always thought ProBoards was kinda like Tapatalk though...I don't think they allow decoration of each individual forum like we used to be able to do. ...

Cy, I told them I was about to create "my own board," but what I meant was that I was going to create one just to test the backgrounds, then let you know if I was able to get it to work. Then I would show it to you and you could create the board, yourself, since you'd need to be the owner of it.

It's surprising how quickly they got back to you! They must really want the business!....That right there is a good sign, because if you go to Tapatalk and ask about something, they act like you're interfering with their favorite soaps and really ruining the flow of their day.

The way you can add code to the board reminds me of Yuku.

Anyway, you can look things over and decide if it would be worth setting up an experimental board or not. Or you can keep shopping around.
